Akaroa, South Island, New Zealand

Not far from Christchurch is quaint historic Akaroa, settled by the French in 1840.  Akaora is also home to many famous seafaring men, including Commander Frank Worsley, Captain of Endurance – Shackleton’s expedition to the Antarctic.  We took the walking tour through town to explore the many historic homes and buildings.  Beautiful drive into Akaroa with panoramic views of the many bays and harbors.
