Oamaru, South Island, New Zealand

As we continue our drive down the east coast, we passed through many charming towns such as Temuka, Timura and Oamaru.  We stopped at Oamaru for lunch at the Loan & Merc Restaurant and Bar owned by renowned Kiwi Chef, Fleur and of course, we feasted on New Zealand lamb.  After lunch, we meandered through the old town and enjoyed some of New Zealand’s best preserved historic commercial buildings located near the harbor.  At the other end of the harbor is the home of the yellow-eyed and blue penguin colonies.
