Milford Sound Fjord's, South Island, New Zealand
We chilled out at Milford Sound for a few days just long enough to spot the Yellow-Crowned Parakeet and Kea (Mountain Parrot) on one of our lovely hikes. While in Milford Sound we took a fantastic cruise through the fjords all the way out to the Tasman Sea. The first sight of the Milford fjords is stunning – still, dark waters out of which rise sheer rocky cliffs, and forests clinging to the slopes. Seals and dolphins came out to greet us. We got a thrill when the captain got us up close to the tall majestic fjord cliffs and waterfalls. On the day of our cruise, we even got lucky with the weather for a change and had some of that wonderful NZ sunshine.
