Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (January 2013)

We visited Brisbane for a few days and even attended the Brisbane International Tennis Tournament.   Brisbane is located right on the Brisbane river – the city boasts beautiful bridges, pedestrian/cycle paths on the river, tree lined streets, swimming lagoons on the river front, a graceful mix of old and new buildings including the old Queensland government and parliament buildings, fantastic cultural center - performing arts, museums, art galleries and a lovely botanical garden on the river front.  Plus the added benefit of all being in walking distance.  We stayed at the Explorers Inn located in downtown Brisbane with very reasonable prices.

Brisbane International Tennis Tournament (2013)

We got to see quality tennis players, including Serena Williams and Andy Murray.  Andy Murray played against the John Milman – the local boy from Brisbane and of course the crowd favorite.  The Aussie audience went wild when Johnny took the second set against Murray.  Check out the pictures of our front row pictures of Daniela Hantuchova.

Dennis Road Trip (December 2012)

While MaryLee went back to the states to visit family and friends, Dennis took a road trip to explore the Australian outback and the Pacific east coast.  He traveled nearly 5,000 kilometers and visited Longreach, Winton, Charter Towers, Cairns and Townsville.  He camped out most of the trip!
